TOYO-INTL CHAIN BLOCK MFG JAPAN

Seven requirements for working safety of lifting blocks!

In order to ensure the safety of lifting pulley operations, it is essential to adhere strictly to the operational requirements. Below are seven requirements for product usage summarized by our staff. Let’s learn them together.

1. Prior to commencing work, the block must be inspected. If it has recently undergone maintenance or if a new block is being used, a rated load test should be conducted and confirmed as correct before putting it into operation.

2. Before use, clearly determine the rated lifting weight of the pulley and ensure that the load does not exceed this limit. If unable to identify the weight, alternative measuring tools can be utilized; however, overloading must be strictly avoided.

3. Before using the lifting block, inspect all its components for any damage or defects. Only proceed with assembly if everything is found intact.

4. The selection of wire rope must comply with specified requirements and consider appropriate angles between wire rope and pulley groove during assembly in order to guarantee safe lifting operations.

5. When working at high altitudes or when there are significant changes in force direction, it is advisable not to choose hook-type blocks; however, if they are selected, proper sealing measures should be taken to prevent tackle decoupling caused by excessive forces during operation.

6. Regularly lubricate both the block and shaft with oil during usage in order to reduce bearing wear and effectively extend their service life.

7. When disassembling the lifting block, never throw it away as this could potentially harm personnel nearby; instead handle it carefully while ensuring protection for both staff members and integrity of equipment.

These are seven essential requirements that need strict adherence when operating a lifting block in order to provide utmost safety for workers and maintain equipment integrity.
